DEEPSTATE

DEEPSTATE PRESS is a publishing and creative studio based in the North of England. Through archiving, publishing, and exhibitions, the press platforms radical, queer Muslim and diasporic voices, with a focus on Asian, African, and SWANA contexts.

Founded in 2026 by Hamza Ashraf, the press aims to build a publishing practice that merges research, community, and storytelling: producing books, zines, exhibitions and a library that archives resistance, desire, and contemporary identity.

Our approach centres collaboration, care, and autonomy; giving underrepresented and working-class queer Muslim artists the space and support to publish work that might otherwise remain unseen or undervalued.

Contact / Submissions

We welcome PDF project proposals and endeavour to provide individual feedback when possible, however we can only guarantee to respond to those we wish to discuss further. We do not accept unsolicited physical submissions.

Orders are packed and dispatched from Leeds. Please allow a few working days for orders to be processed and dispatched. Delivery times vary depending on destination and postal service.

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive confirmation where applicable.

RETURNS

Due to the limited nature of our publications and editions, please contact us as soon as possible if your order arrives damaged or you believe there is an issue with your purchase. Please include your order number and photographs of the item and packaging where relevant.
